PL Discovery Phase
FoundationsWorkshop
Every school site is required to lead a version of the Foundations Workshop in the fall of 2015. Schools can decide how and when they lead this workshop, but our goal is for all schools to lead it by December 18, 2015 so that we can build on this knowledge in the spring of 2016. After Foundations, teachers and principalsl can choose any one or more of the following options to explore during the Discovery Phase. PL Playlist
We have created a playlist of PL resources to help you start learning about personalized learning. We see blended learning as a first step towards personalized learning, so we have linked this playlist to the four elements we believe are necessary for high quality blended learning: 1) integrated digital content, 2) small group instruction, 3) student reflection, and 4) data-driven decisions. You can choose any resource on the playlist to start with and can use as many or few as you like!
PL School Visits
We've compiled a list of personalized learning schools that you may want to visit as part of your Discovery Phase exploration. Schools are grouped by region and we've detailed what each site is best known for. We also highly encourage you to visit some of the Warren Cohort 1 schools who will begin testing PL practices in the fall of 2015.
Student + Teacher Interviews
Interviews can be an important way to gain insights about the needs of the teachers and students at your school site. We've put together a list of student and teacher interview questions and created a google form you can use to help record and track your interview responses. See the student interview google form and the teacher interview google form. We'd love for you to post any learnings from these interviews to the Warren PL Google+ Community!
Explore Digital Tools
You might explore a new digital tool or use a tool you already know in a new way to support you in personalizing learning for your students in your classroom. Test a
PL Practice
There are many ways you can start testing personalized learning practices in your classroom. You may wan to explore PL practices from other teachers and replicate or modify one for your classroom.
